Why he might be annoying:

His only lose in post season came in the 9th inning of the 7th game of the 2001 World Series.
His rare error (2nd in his entire major league career) helped setup his only play off defeat (2001).

Why he might not be annoying:

He has only made one fielding error for 1995-2001.
His #42 will be retired (in tribute to Jackie Robinson), and he will be the last player to wear that number.
His post season record going into 2002 is an incredible 6 wins 1 lose and 24 saves.
During that time his strike out to walk ratio is better than 5 to 1, and a major league leading ERA of 0.91.
He has never had less than 36 saves since becoming a closer (1997).
Unaccustomed to losing in post season, he took it in good stride.
His salary went for $131,125 in 1996 to $9,150,000 in 2001.
His nickname by most opponents is 'Mr. Automatic,' since they know when he comes in, the game is over.
On the day he became the second pitcher to save 500 games he got his first career RBI (June 28, 2009)
He set a Major League record with his 602nd career save against the Minnesota Twins (September 19, 2011).
