    Played for TSV 1861 Nördlingen (1963-64), Bayern Munich (1964-79) and the Fort Lauderdale Strikers (1979-81)
    Played for the West German national team (1966-74)

Why he might be annoying:

    He shared his name with a German politican and industrialist.
    He went by the nickname 'Bomber der Nation (The Nation's Bomber).
    He quit the West German national team in protest to the team's decision to excluse the players wives from post-game celebrations.
    He opted to play his final three seasons in North America, but was unable to replicate the same numbers he did in his home country.
    He suffered from depression and alcoholism in his first couple years after his retirement.

    He was considered one of the greatest goal scorers in soccer history.
    He held the World Cup record for career goals scored, prior to being surpassed by Ronaldo.
    He excelled playing in the six-yard box zone.
    He was considered a clutch scorer, who excelled at any scoring opportunity that was given to him.
    He won seven German league scoring titles and two European league scoring titles during his career.
