Why he might be annoying:

He hosted the disastrous talk show 'Listen Up! with Charles Barkley' (October 31, 2002-April 10, 2003)
He called Atlanta Braves games with his father.
He played in a celebrity dunk contest wearing welder's glasses and extremely tight shorts.

Why he might not be annoying:

He has to put up with Charles Barkley on a weekly basis.
He is actively involved with the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
He announced sporting events from all over the world, including the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville, France and the 1994 Winter Games in Lillehamer, Norway.
He handled simultaneously both Wimbledon and the NBA draft, by flying from England to New York and back again in less than forty-eight hours.
He has two adopted children, including a disabled son.
On winning an Emmy, he said, 'I keep thinking that (winning the Emmy) must be a clerical error, that somebody's going to call and say it was a mistake... I keep asking myself, How did I win this? So many other people make me look good.'
