He was arrested for beating up a bartender (June 2007) and involvement in a bribery plot on the victim (November 2007).
Amy’s parents hate him.
His parents suggested the public should avoid buying any Winehouse material on the assumption that it would halt her descent.
He and Amy would sometimes get into violent fights.

Why he might not be annoying:

He was the primary inspiration for ‘Back to Black,’ her 2006 CD.
Regardless of his motives, he feared awakening to the news that his wife would be dead.
