The Resume

Why he might be annoying:

Many people think he has a bias towards signing Latino ballplayers.
He also seems to have a penchant for older players.
He got a lot of heat for firing Willie Randolph in 2008 after 3AM Eastern, just after the Mets won a game at the Los Angeles Angels. Even though Randolph's firing wasn't a surprise, the timing came into question.
In 2009, during a press conference where he announced the firing of assistant GM Tony Bernazard, he accused New York Daily News reporter Adam Rubin, who broke the story that led to Bernazard's firing, of seeking a position within the Mets organization. This accusation, which came out of nowhere, was one of many embarrassments by the 2009 Mets.
He is known for not being a good public speaker.

Why he might not be annoying:

He is the first Hispanic to become a General Manager in <11100>Major League Baseball<11100> history.
Within two years of taking the Mets General Manager position, they had the best record in the National League.
In January 2009, he was appointed by George W. Bush to Bush's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports.
