After the 'Macarena' became a dance hit, most people were shocked that the singers were two middle aged establishment looking gentlemen.
The song almost became a parody onto itself.
The song received round the clock exposure on the radio.
The lyrics are about a girl who's boyfriend is out of town and she is looking for a one night stand.
Despite recording six different versions, the most popular 'Macarena' version was not recorded by them, but by the Bayside Boys.
