Why he might be annoying:

He was known more for his marriage to Murphy than his filmmaking skills.
He married Murphy a year after divorcing his first wife.
Though he received writing credit for the 2006 film 'Factory Girl,' the director of the movie claims he had nothing to do with it, and was given credit to settle a 'frivolous lawsuit.'
He was charged with credit card fraud in 2005.
Having been evicted from four homes, a bank successfully sued him for $470,000 in 2006.
He spent nine days in jail and faced deportation in 2007 when he allowed his visa in the U.S. to expire.
He vigorously protested the coroner's decision to autopsy Murphy, leading people to speculate her death was drug related.

Why he might not be annoying:

He dated actress Alexandra Kerry, daughter of 2004 presidential hopeful John Kerry.
He bore a resemblance to Jim Belushi.
He was okay with his mother-in-law living at his house both before and after Murphy's death.
It was his mother-in-law who found him collapsed in the bedroom of the house and called 911, but it was too late.
Some people claim he couldn't cope with the death of Murphy, and died of a 'broken heart.'
