The Resume

    (September 20, 1951- )
    Born in Los Angeles, California
Portrayed Tess Wilkins on 'The Law of the Plainsman' (1959-60) and Mimi Scott on 'Karen' (1964-65)
Acted in 'Andy Hardy Comes Home,' 'It Happened to Jane,' 'Face of a Fugitive,' and 'Whatever Happened to Baby Jane'

Why she might be annoying:

She started her acting career at the age of five.
She was sister to trainwreck Mouseketeer Darlene Gillespie.
Despite having several important movie roles in her canon, she never equaled her sister's own celebrity (or notoriety).
Despite a successful run over a short span of time, she is only really known to moviegoers as 'young Blanche' - or young Joan Crawford - appearing only in the first five minutes of 'Whatever Happened to Baby Jane.'
Weirdly enough, her other most significant movie part was in a Doris Day vehicle called 'It Happened to Jane' (what the hell happened to Jane?!!)

Why she might not be annoying:

She has been married to the same man for over 40 years.
She was a favorite on Shirley Temple's Storybook - and played the challenging title roles in the 'Pippi Longstocking' and 'Madeleine' episodes.
She held her own with such heavyweights as Fred MacMurray, Mickey Rooney, and Jack Lemmon.
A Joan Crawford biographer wrote of her small but pivotal 'Baby Jane' role: 'The casting of Gina Gillespie as young Blanche is inspired, as the girl radiates Joan's own intensity.'
She also made a very strong impression on the underrated and short-lived Rifleman spinoff, 'The Law of the Plainsman,' in a dramatic role as an 8-year-old orphan Marshal Sam Buckhart adopts.
She had the foresight to quit while she was ahead and leave acting to focus on her education, avoiding the costly mistakes of her sister in the process (Gina eventually became a barred attorney in 2002).
