Why he might be annoying:

    He went by P.J. despite the fact his actual birth name is Collier.
    He initially balked at playing for the Nets, electing to spend the entire 1992-93 season in Greece.
    He was accused of being lazy and uninterested in playing by his coaches during his stint with the Nets.
    He went into semi-retirement and elected to sign with Boston at the All-Star break in order to get a shot at a title.
    He was primarily used as a bench player during his stint with the Celtics.

Why he might not be annoying:

    Despite his initial reluctance, he agreed to play for the Nets.
    He branched out by taking his game to another level upon signing with the Heat.
    He was heavily involved in the community, which earned him the J. Walter Kennedy Citizenship award (1997).
    He was considered one of the classiest players on and off the court.
    He was able to finish his playing career a champion (2008).
