    Also played for Atlant Moscow Oblast (2014-15), Spartak Moscow (2015-17), Jokerit (2017-18) and SC Rapperswil-Jona Lakers (2018-19)
    Hobey Baker Award winner (2009)

Why he might be annoying:

    He is one of ten children in his family.
    He said he and his brother initally wore #98 and #97 respectively as children to pay homage to Wayne Gretzky, when in reality, the latter wore #99.
    He was converted as a defenseman at Boston University, since it was the only position available for a walk on spot.
    He was unable to translate his college success at the professional level.
    He frequently shuffled back and forth between the NHL and the minor leagues during his North American career.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He wore #97 to honor his late brother, Timmy who succumbed to injuries sustained in a bicycle accident.
    He was granted an exception by Jack Parker to wear #97 at Boston University, due to the significance of it, as team policy prohibits the use of higher numbers by players.
    He made the Boston University men's hockey team and honored his four year commitment to school by passing on offers to leave college early to turn pro.
    He fulfilled a childhood dream when he signed with the Rangers as an undrafted free agent.
    He played for the United States at the Winter Olympics in Pyongechang (2018).
