Why he might be annoying:

He enjoyed gardening.
He was divorced.
He is best remembered for sending Eddie Gaedel, a midget, to bat in a 1951 game and had him wear the number 1/8.
He tried to have his players wear shorts while playing.
He is responsible for having players showboat after hitting a home run.
He planned the infamous Disco Demolition Night in 1979, in which a DJ was to explode disco records between games of a doubleheader. It resulted in thousands of fans jumping on the field, and policemen were needed to restore order, which forced him to forfeit the next game.

Why he might not be annoying:

He was very quotable.
He planted the ivy to cover the outfield walls at Wrigley Field.
It was his idea to have Harry Caray sing 'Take Me Out to the Ball Game' during the 7th inning stretch.
He was wounded in World War II and ended up using a wooden leg after 36 operations.
He brought fan interest to his teams by simply buying them.
He introduced baseball's first scoreboard. (1960)
He was the last owner of a major league baseball team without an independent fortune.
