The Resume

    (January 23, 1881-June 1, 1957)
    Born in Milan, Italy
    Died in London, England
Full name was Luisa Adele Rosa Maria Amman, the Marchesa Casati Stampa di Soncino

Why she might be annoying:

She grew up rich, the younger daughter of a cotton manufacturer.
After the birth of her child, she and husband Camilo maintained separate homes.
Fascist author Gabriele D'Annuzio was one of her many lovers.
She strolled nude, wearing only a fur coat, taking her diamond-collared leopards for walks.
She wore live snakes as jewelry.
She used eyedrops containing deadly belladonna to make her green eyes brighter.

Why she might not be annoying:

She lost both parents by 15.
Her servants were nude men gilded in gold.
Her emphatic patronage of art and literature may have caused her to lose most of her fortune.
She was a fashion icon, inspiring John Galliano, and Karl Lagerfeld and is the namesake for the fashion house Marchesa.
Glamorous to the end, she was buried wearing a leopard print outfit and false eyelashes, with her beloved stuffed dogs at her feet.
She declared, 'I want to be a living work of art.'
