    Singer and pianist
    Led the band Georgie Fame and the Blue Flames
    Recorded the singles 'Yeh Yeh' (1965), 'Getaway' (1966), 'The Ballad of Bonnie and Clyde' (1968) and 'Rosetta' (with Alan Price, 1971)

Why he might be annoying:

    He got a goofy stage name from the same impressario who had named Marty Wilde and Billy Fury.
    His manager founded the first pirate radio station, Radio Caroline, because the BBC and Radio Luxembourg would not play his records.
    He was busted for drug possession (1966).
    He and the Marchioness of Londonderry had a child while she was still married to the Marquess of Londonderry.
    For much of the 70s, he made ends meet writing ad jingles.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He had three #1 singles in Britain.
    Members of the Blue Flames included jazz guitarist John McLaughlin and Jimi Hendrix Experience drummer Mitch Mitchell.
    He and the Blue Flames were the only English act invited to join the Motown Revue during its first British tour.
    He recorded jazz albums that were credible enough to earn him a spot touring with Count Basie.
    For most of the 90s, he was a member of Van Morrison's band and his musical director.
