Why he might be annoying:

'A Fistful of Dollars' is a shameless remake of Akira Kurosawa's 'Yojimbo (1961).'
His lifelong ambition was to remake 'Gone With The Wind.'
Before his death, he planned on making a film titled 'The 900 Days' about the siege on Leningrad. He had planned to cast Robert De Niro and had already been able to get $100 million for financing.
He started feuds with many of his collaborators such as Sergio Donati, Luciano Vincenzoni, and Tonino Valerri, mainly over crediting and the direction of scenes.
He turned down an offer to direct 'The Godfather.'

Why he might not be annoying:

He invented the Spaghetti Western.
He invented the extreme close-up.
He resurrected Clint Eastwood's career by casting him in his 'Dollars Trilogy' ('A Fistful of Dollars,' 'For a Few Dollars More' and 'The Good, The Bad & The Ugly).
His four-hour epic 'Once Upon a Time in America' was heavily edited for U.S release and was in-turn panned by critics, only to have the original version restored and receive universal praise.
He is a huge influence on the careers of many Hollywood directors including Quentin Tarantino.
He and long time collaborator Ennio Morricone worked together on some of the greatest musical scores ever.
