He almost died and put his basketball career in jeopardy when he foolishly was doing stunts on his motorcycle. He crashed it into a pole.
It is undecided whether or not he will be able to continue his career.
He was inconsistent during his rookie season.
He shares the same name as two NBA players, one who is an eccentric player and the other who was charged with manslaughter.

Why he might not be annoying:

He was the best American-born player in his draft class which made him a top 5 pick.
He won the Naismith Award as best college player with Duke (2002).
He still is working on making a comeback and trying to resume his NBA career.
He does color commentary during the college basketball season.
He changed his professional name to Jay so he wouldn't be confused with Jason Williams.
