The Resume

    (1977-1991)
    Born in Los Angeles, California
    Main members:
    Jody Watley (1977-84)
    Jeffrey Daniel (1977-84)
    Howard Hewett (1979-86)
Recorded the singles 'Uptown Festival' (1977), 'The Second Time Around' (1979), 'A Night To Remember' (1982), 'Dead Giveaway' (1983) and 'Dancing in the Sheets' (1984)

Why they might be annoying:

'Uptown Festival' was actually recorded by anonymous session singers, with a group being recruited after it became a hit.
The success of 'Uptown Festival,' a medley of Motown songs by sound alike singers, probably gave the people behind Stars on 45 ideas.
Daniel was reportedly abusive to wife Stephanie Mills.
After the three core members left, the band carried on with replacements to dwindling sales and interest.
They reunited for the show 'Hit Me Baby One More Time' (2005).

Why they might not be annoying:

They provided a launching pad for Watley's solo success.
While touring Britain, they appeared on Band Aid's 'Do They Know It's Christmas?'
They contributed songs to the 'Footloose' and 'Beverly Hills Cop' soundtracks.
Daniel taught Michael Jackson how to moonwalk and choreographed the videos 'Bad,' 'Smooth Criminal' and 'Ghosts.'
