Why South Africa might be annoying:

    It is most famous for apartheid, where citizens were segregated and non-whites were purposely disadvantaged in their quality of life. Those who resisted were jailed, beaten or killed.
    The people suffer from droughts.
    Life expectancy is less than forty-six.
    Almost 4 in 10 people suffer from HIV or AIDS.
    Violent crimes are common in many parts of the country.
    Half the population is below the poverty line.
    Methaqualone is most popular (worldwide) for consumption in South Africa.
    It has been reported that illegal immigrants make up one-third of the people living in South Africa.
    Concentration camps were first used here by the British during the Anglo-Boer War (1899-1902).
    The South African bull frog grows to almost a yard long.
    South Africans roast termites and snack on them
    Some of the locals eat anteaters.
    South Africa has two official national anthems.
    They once exiled 100,000 non-whites and gave their homes to white people (August 25, 1956).

    The world's largest gold mine is the Witwatersrand Basin in South Africa (50,000 tons).
    It is home to African Elephants (largest land mammal), Giraffes, Cheetahs, Ostriches, Whale Sharks (largest known sea creature), Thomson's Gazelles, Lions, Wildebeests and the Leatherback Turtle (largest reptile).
    The first human heart transplant was performed in Cape Town (1967).
    FW De Klerk became President and collapsed the apartheid. He and Nelson Mandela won the Nobel Peace Prize for their heroic efforts in structuring South Africa's non-racial democracy.
    Both Archbishop Desmond Tutu and Nelson Mandela have won the Nobel Peace Prize, and they both own houses on the same street in Soweto, South Africa.
    It is home to the biggest hospital in the world (Chris Hani).
    Women are the majority in parliament.
    The law protects homosexual relationships.
    Charlize Theron attended school in Johannesburg.
    The world's largest wine cellars is outside of Capetown.
    A child playing on a beach was the first to discover a South African diamond.
    The world's largest rugby museum is located in Cape Town
    The world's largest clock is located at Durban it is 200 feet in diameter
    They export millions of lobster tails annually.
    Half of all flower species grow in South Africa.
    Two-thirds of the world's gold comes from South Africa.
