    He was a devotee of fascism in the 1930s.
    He hid his homosexuality for most of his life.
    He designed and lived in a glass house.

    He regretted his early fascist views, saying, 'I have no excuse (for) such utter, unbelievable stupidity. I don't know how you expiate guilt.'
    He spoke openly about his sexual orientation toward the end of his life.
    He and his partner, David Whitney, were together for 45 years.
    He designed the AT&T Building in New York City and other buildings all over the country.
    He won the first Pritzker Architecture Prize in 1979.
    He called architecture 'the most delightful of all pursuits.'
