Their name is also slang for an illegal drug.
Their debut single, 'Statue of Liberty,' was banned by the BBC for making allegedly lewd comments about the monument.
Partridge suffered a nervous breakdown after his wife threw out the supply of Valium that he was dependent on.
Since then, Partridge has suffered severe stage fright, keeping the band from touring, which contributed to their inability to break into the US market.
Chambers and Moulding left the music business, with Moulding reportedly no longer interested in even listening to music.
