Why he might be annoying:

He got thrown out of pre-school and the Cub Scouts.
He was asked not to return to high school after starting a biology lab fight using frog organs in place of spitballs.
He was a macrobiotic vegetarian who smoked.
He would liven up flights by yelling during descent, 'We're not gonna make it! We're all gonna die!'

Why he might not be annoying:

His problems in school were partly the result of undiagnosed dyslexia.
Asked how the success of the Dead's 'Touch of Grey' had changed him, he replied, 'You know those occasional pistachio nuts that are really tough to open? Now I just throw them out.'
He performed at a get out the vote Concert for Change (October 13, 2008) despite cracking his ribs in a tour bus accident earlier in the month.
