    Founded Pan American Airlines (1927)
    Served as president until 1968
    Posthumously received the Presidential Medal of Freedom (1985)

Why he might be annoying:

    He did not like his first name and considered changing it until he discovered that it helped open doors when negotiating for airline routes in Latin America.
    He tried to get the US government to grant PanAm a monopoly on overseas routes, leading to clashes with TWA's Howard Hughes.
    He made deals without telling the company's top managers.
    A friend said, 'Juan's idea of relaxing is to sit up til 2 AM talking aviation.'

Why he might not be annoying:

    He introduced the concept of 'tourist class,' cutting air fares in half (1947).
    He convinced Boeing to build the 707 and 747 jets.
    He was inducted into the National Business Hall of Fame (1990) and listed by Time as one of the 100 most important people of the 20th century.
