The Resume

    (February 8, 2009-July 15, 2012)
    Appears on Spike TV
Premise: Morbid re-enactments of actual strange and unusual deaths and the science behind them

Why 1000 Ways To Die might be annoying:

Many of the stories are taken from the Darwin Awards (awarding those who remove themselves from the gene pool to do mankind a favor).
Many stories are grotesque (with one episode featuring a man who tried to clear a block in a wood chipper with his foot; then the predictable happened).
Other stories are stupidly unbelievable; another man completely doped up attempting a sexual encounter with a brown bear gets mauled.
Several downright bizarre stories include a woman who had a cheap breast augmentation performed by an unqualified surgeon died when her implants expanded, then exploded, during a plane ride weeks later (Episode title: Titty Titty Bang Bang).
The show begins with the disclaimer 'Do not attempt to try ANY of the actions depicted. YOU WILL DIE!'

Why 1000 Ways To Die might not be annoying:

The producer for this show also produced 'The Deadliest Catch.'
Re-enactments of the deaths are presented in a satirical and often humorous manner.
Experts such as doctors, coroners and addictions experts are interviewed to detail how death occurs.
Cases are humorously titled, such as Dung For (detailing a man who died sandwiched between two layers of manure, then dying of excess methane inhalation), Dumbrella (a sword swallower swallows an umbrella, which then opens inside him), Sh*t Faced (an alcoholic recovering from throat surgery has his wife to give him a sherry enema; then dies from alcohol poisoning) and DominaDead (a man dies from a reaction to the latex suit he was wearing during a session with a dominatrix and was unable to communicate his condition because he was also wearing a ball gag).
Its success is credited to people's natural fascination with death.
The top-ranked death titled 'Iciboned' involved a sexually repressed seven-years married Japanese couple finally successful at consummating their marriage dying from heart attacks brought on by simultaneous orgasms (as depicted in bottom right profile photo).
