By making themselves so anti-mainstream, they closed themselves and their message from being exposed to people outside of the East coast metal scene.
They were one of the first straight edge bands, meaning they were anti anything fun.
They'd get pissed when their fans would form a mosh pit at their concerts.
They refused to do interviews.
They been on a hiatus since releasing 'The Argument' in 2002.

Why they might not be annoying:

They had concerts where they would charge $5 for a ticket.
They'd sell their CD's for $10's.
They were known for their memorable live performances.
They had two lead singers who were both equally talented.
They ranked 95th on VH-1's 100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock.
