Vocalist

The Resume

    (July 12, 1948- )
Born in New York City, New York
    Singer/songwriter/guitarist
Recorded the single 'Magnet and Steel' (1978)

Why he might be annoying:

He started in a surf band called the Malibooz.
He auditioned unsuccessfully to replace Bernie Leadon in the Eagles.
    He was a one-hit wonder.
'Magnet and Steel' became a smash in no small part because it prominently featured Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham when Fleetwood Mac were at the height of their success.
He was tagged as a Fleetwood Mac clone. (Having Buckingham appear on his first four albums probably did not help counter the impression.)

Why he might not be annoying:

His song 'Hearts on Fire' was covered by Gram Parsons and ex-Eagle Randy Meisner and his song 'Hot Summer Nights' was a Top 40 hit for the band Night.
He got a writer's credit for Eminem's 'We Made You' because Dr. Dre sampled the bass line from 'Hot Summer Nights' for the song.
He was a four-time champion on the game show 'Catch Phrase' (1985).
He is also a sculptor and created the woodcut print that became the cover for Lindsey Buckingham's album 'Out of the Cradle' (1992).
He became a substitute teacher. ('It’s a good job for a musician because you can go away and come back and still have work.')
