He was constantly smoking cigars and cigarettes.
His death was rumored to have been caused by losing control of the steering as he was trying to light a cigarette.
When he died, he owed the IRS a few thousand dollars in back taxes.
His father was a bootlegger.
He was expected to have one of the leads in Stanley Kramer's 'It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World (1963)' but he died shortly before shooting.
Many of the kinescopes he made have been lost.
He was not the same success in movies as he was in television.
