    Drafted 15th overall by the New York Rangers in the 1991 NHL Entry Draft
    Forward for the New York Rangers (1992-98, 2003-04), Pittsburgh Penguins (1998-2002, 2011), Montreal Canadiens (2004-09) and the Ottawa Senators (2009-11)

Why he might be annoying:

    His work ethic was viewed as being sloppy by hockey pundits.
    He failed to live up to the high expectations that were set for him coming out of the NHL Entry Draft.
    He struggled making the transition from the European game to the North American game during his first few years in the NHL.
    He sparked a bench clearing brawl after he deliberately elbowed Darcy Tucker in the face.
    He allegedly made derogatory statements towards the Canadiens and the Montreal media in an interview with a Russian newspaper.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He is the first Russian born player to be drafted in the first round of the NHL Entry Draft.
    He, along with Sergei Zubov, Alex Karpovtsev and Sergei Nemchinov, became the first Russian born players to have their names engraved on the Stanley Cup (1994).
    He thrived in Pittsburgh's offensive system, posting career highs in all offensive categories during his four year stint with the team.
    He was viewed as an exceptionally skilled player coming out of the Russian leagues.
    He played for both the Soviet Union and Russia in international competition.
