Why he might be annoying:

    He and Bernard King were referred to as 'The Ernie & Bernie Show' during their tenure at the University of Tennessee.
    His tenure as Knicks GM was considered mediocre at best.
    He was fired and re-hired by the Knicks during the strike shortened 1998-99 season.
    Despite making a verbal commitment to return as Knicks GM, he relented and opted to take the Bucks offer instead.
    His tenure as Bucks GM was considered mediocre at best.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He was born in Romania to Jewish parents who fled Hungary as a result of the political unrest.
    His family emigrated to the United States and he obtained American citizenship when he was 18.
    He was a member of the U.S. men's basketball team that won Gold in both the 1975 Pan-Am Games and the 1976 Summer Olympics.
    He was the architect behind the Knicks 1994 Eastern Conference championship team.
    He reconstructed the Wizards roster by trading problem child Kwame Brown and acquiring franchise pillars Gilbert Arenas, Caron Butler and Antawn Jamison.
