Why they might be annoying:

They were considered an arena rock band.
In 1980, they decided that there was no need for a saxophone or a keyboard in the band, which lead to the firing of McDonald and Greenwood.
They waited three years after their fourth album to record again.
They recorded what many consider the most irritating love song ever, 'I Want to Know What Love Is.'
They alienated many of their fans during the mid 80's by recording such a steady flow of ballads.
Mick and Lou decided to focus on other projects during the late 80's which would eventually lead to Lou leaving the band for 3 years.
They released four 'best of' compilations.

Why they might not be annoying:

They were one of the most successful bands of the 70's and 80's.
Mick Jones played guitar on albums by George Harrison and Peter Frampton before forming Foreigner.
Their debut album was certified five times platinum.
The first album Mutt Lange produced after AC/DC's 'Back in Black' was their album, '4.'
They hired the New Jersey Mass Choir to sing back-up on 'I Want to Know What Love Is.'
In an episode of 'Aqua Teen Hunger Force,' space invaders from the Moon gained super powers after winning a Foreigner belt.
They ranked 86th on VH-1's 100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock.
