Why they might be annoying:

Dr. Robert gave several different explanations for what the band’s name meant.
They were one-hit wonders in the US, where ‘Digging Your Scene’ was their only single to chart.
The album title ‘She Was Only a Grocer’s Daughter’ was intended as a diss of Margaret Thatcher.
Their single ‘(Celebrate) The Day After You’ was banned by the BBC for being too political during a general election year (1987).

Why they might not be annoying:

‘Digging Your Scene’ was one of the first hit songs to deal with the AIDS epidemic.
Soul legend Curtis Mayfield collaborated with them on two tracks.
AllMusic wrote that they had ‘a quirkiness that set them apart from other bands of their ilk.’
