Why they might be annoying:

The group was named in honor of Gene Autry's horse, 'Champion.'
Their follow-up hit was 'Too Much Tequila.'
Most of their records were instrumentals.
Bickering over musical direction led to several personnel changes.

Why they might not be annoying:

The band consisted of some of the best session musicians in the business.
'Tequila' evolved from a jam session and was recorded in just 3 takes.
One of their incarnations included Glen Campbell, Dash Crofts and Jimmy Seals of Seals and Crofts.
'Tequila' sold 6 million copies and won the Grammy for 'Best R & B Record' of 1958.
The tune is a party classic, five decades later.
