Why they might be annoying:

    Created by the guy behind One Direction, says their official website (‘the music mogul knows chemistry and talent when he sees it’).
    Originally they had been called LYLAS (Love You Like a Sister). Problem: Bruno Mars’ sisters already formed a group of the same name.
    Later they would become 1432 (I Love You Too). Problem: panelists Simon Cowell and L.A. Reid weren’t too fond of that name.
    The selection of their eventual group name came down to an online lottery.
    Jauregui is the only Miami native of the group.

Why they might not be annoying:

    Well, if the Brits had Little Mix…
    Collectively, they regard Destiny’s Child and the Spice Girls as an influence.
    Cabello is the only member not to be born stateside (she is Cuban).
    Their ability to perform in fluent espanol made them popular with the young Hispanic community.
    Hernandez’s grandfather died just before the fifth live episode; they performed ‘Stronger’ in his honor.
    They are active in numerous causes, particularly dealing with homeless youth and social media awareness.
