    Student manager of the men's basketball team at Valparaiso University (1991-93)
    Assistant coach of the men's basketball team at Valparaiso University (1993-2002)
    Head coach of the men's basketball team at Valparaiso University (2002-03) and Baylor University

Why he might be annoying:

    He never played a game at the varsity level.
    He landed a coaching position at Valparaiso through nepotism, since his father was the head coach.
    Some pundits felt he was forced out at Valparaiso, when his father wanted to return to coaching the team.
    He was caught trying to skirt recruitment rules by telling his coaching staff to give misleading information to NCAA officials (2012).
    His actions placed the Baylor basketball programs on probation for three years as a result.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He earned a bachelor's degree from Butler University in liberal arts.
    He was considered one of the top recruiters in the NCAA by college basketball pundits.
    He was credited with helping return the Baylor men's basketball program to prominence, in wake of a scandal that nearly derailed it.
    He guided Baylor to the program's first national championship in school history, in an upset victory over Gonzaga, who was undefeated all season (2021).
