The Resume

    (August 27, 1940-May 26, 1994)
    Born in Ossining, New York
Birth name was Warren Harding Sharrock
    Jazz guitarist
    Member of Last Exit
Recorded the albums 'Black Woman' (1969), 'Monkey Pockie Boo' (1970), 'Paradise' (1975), 'Dance with Me Montana' (1982), 'Guitar' (1986), 'Seize the Rainbow' (1987), 'No Material' (with Ginger Baker, 1989), 'Live in New York' (1989), 'Highlife' (1990), 'Faith Moves' (1991) and 'Ask the Ages' (1991)

Why he might be annoying:

He wanted to be a sax player and switched to guitar only because of his asthma.
He said he considered himself 'a horn player with a really fucked-up axe.'
After breaking up with his wife and musical collaborator, he did not record for six years (1975-81), working as a chauffeur instead.

Why he might not be annoying:

His playing combined the openness of jazz and the power of rock.
Trouser Press called 'Ask the Ages' 'the ideal album to play for those who claim to hate jazz guitar.'
He died unexpectedly of a heart attack just before he was to sign his first contract with a major label.
His last completed project before his death was the soundtrack for 'Space Ghost Coast to Coast.'
