Why he might be annoying:

    He, along with Matt Olson, were known as 'The Corner Matts' during their stint in Oakland.
    He was ejected from a game, after he went after another player who he felt was accusing him and the A's of stealing signs (2017).
    He uses a basketball style crouch as part of his fielding skill set.
    He missed the majority of the shortened 2020 season due to injuries, which in turn snapped his Gold Glove streak.
    He set an Athletics franchise record for most strikeouts recorded in a single season (202 in 2021).

Why he might not be annoying:

    He was a surprise mid-first round selection by the Athletics in 2014.
    He earned the Texas League MVP honors during his time with Double-A Midland (2016).
    He was considered one of the top defensive players in his first few major league seasons.
    He earned Platinum Glove Award honors, along with his Gold Glove Awards during his first couple seasons as a full-time starter.
