US senator and chairman of the committee on military affairs and the militia (1825-28)
Why he might be annoying
He was a college drop-out.
His father-in-law, Judge John Symmes, complained: 'He can neither bleed, plead, nor preach, and if he could plow I should be satisfied.' (November 22, 1795)
He fathered ten children.
U.S. Senator, John Quincy Adams said of him 'He displayed a lively and active, but shallow mind.'
At sixtry-seven he was the oldest person at the time to be elected president.
On March 4, 1841, in one of the longest inaugural addresses, he promised not to run for a second term. A month later he died of pneumonia (April 4, 1841).
Why he might not be annoying
He was a Major General who won many battles against the British and Indians, including the War of 1812.
He only serve for one month so didn't cause any real harm.
