His wife Wende was 37 years younger then him.
He became a father at age 80 (April 11, 2000), although he and Wende have adult sons.
Other than 'Star Trek,' he did very little in his acting career.
He was missing a finger on his right hand, which he lost as a member of the Royal Canadian Artillery.
Why he might not be annoying
He is the Scotty referred to in 'Beam Me Up Scotty.'
He used his middle name Montgomery for the first name of his Star Trek character, Scotty.
He had Alzheimers.
He was the inspiration for students studying engineering.
More than half of Milwaukee School of Engineering pointed to him as their inspiration, so they gave him an honorary degree in engineering.
