The Resume

    (February 10, 1960- )
    Born in Gallipolis, Ohio
Recorded the singles 'I Watched It All On My Radio,' 'Leap of Faith,' 'Be My Angel,' 'Like Father, Like Son' and 'Give Me His Last Chance'
Recorded the albums 'Lionel Cartwright (1989),' 'I Watched It On The Radio (1990)' and 'Chasin' The Sun (1991)'

Why he might be annoying:

He was initially turned down for a record deal, because executives felt he didn't have enough performing experience.
His fourth album 'The Real Story' went unreleased, despite the fact the leadoff single 'Be My Angel' was playing on the radio.
Like many soft country artists in the early 1990's, his sound fell out of favor with radio listeners as edgier artists like Garth Brooks began dominating the airwaves.
He did not record another single until 20 years later, when he released the song 'Free Me from Myself.'
He opted to pursue a career as a pastor in the years following his exit from the music industry.

Why he might not be annoying:

He began performing publicly at the age of 10.
He taught himself how to play nine different instruments in his childhood.
He served as the music director, arranger and performer for programming at The Nashville Network, before recording his first album.
He is an accomplished songwriter, in addition to performing.
He recorded four Top 10 singles on the country music charts between 1988 and 1992.
