Why she might be annoying:

Her birth name was Howard Allen O'Brien, but she changed it to Anne.
She attended Catholic school.
She said bad things about Tom Cruise when he first signed on to star in the film 'Interview with the Vampire' (then later apologized publicly for it).
Her vocabulary is so immense that it confuses even college graduates.
She was once willingly carried in a coffin across New Orleans in a horse-drawn carriage.
Early in her career she wrote some soft-core porn novellas under the name Anne Rampling (one of these inspired the movie 'Exit to Eden,' which starred Rosie O'Donnell in an S&M costume).
She ranked #6 in 2002 on Mr. Blackwell's Worst Dress List.

Her mother died when she was fifteen.
She attended Texas Woman's University.
She has written over 20 books that have inspired film adaptations.
Her daughter died in the early 1970's of leukemia.
She is supportive of the careers of her husband Stan (a poet) and her son Christopher (a novelist).
She loves to study history.
She publicly supports the careers of other celebrities (like Madonna).
