The Resume

    (December 1991- )
    Born in Hollywood, California
Novelty recordings and videos of singing cats
    Produced by Mike Spalla
Albums include ‘Meowy Christmas’ (1993), ‘Here Comes Santa Claws’ (1994), ‘Rhythm and Mews’ (2002) and ‘First Meowel’ (2009)

Why they might be annoying:

Their album titles are hokey puns.
Their early videos use primitive 1980s style animation.
    They cover ‘Dueling Banjos.’
Spalla’s wife thought he had lost it when he quit his day job to work with singing cats.
They are a cat hater’s worst nightmare.

Why they might not be annoying:

Their songs are made up of actual meows and caterwauls. (Most novelty animal songs are simulated.)
It all began when a kitten wandered into a recording booth and tried to mew along to ‘Jingle Bells.’
    Dogs sometimes perform guest vocals.
In a nice inclusive touch, one recording combines ‘What Child is This?’ with ‘Hava Naglia.’
‘Meowy Christmas’ made it to number 10 on Billboard.
