Why she might be annoying:

    In her autobiography, she claimed Ronald Reagan proposed marriage to her and she turned him down.
    She appeared in ads for Camel Cigarettes.
    She appeared in several 70s disaster flicks thanks to her marriage to producer Jennings Lang.
    She admitted that despite a long and varied career, more people heard her singing about bananas than in other context.

Why she might not be annoying:

    She beat out 300 other singers to replace Peggy Lee in Benny Goodman's band.
    After a USO tour of Korea, she received 3,000 letters a week from servicemen.
    She was a guest on the first episode of The Ed Sullivan Show.
    When she was 85, she memorably reprised her Chiquita Banana role on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' (2007)
