The Resume

    (circa 1815- )
    Born in Alabama

Why Monroeville, Alabama might be annoying:

It can be hard to get to and the roads into it are not attractive.
It has experienced little growth over the past several decades relative to the rest of Alabama.
Harper Lee's 'To Kill a Mockingbird' didn't exactly leave a good impression of the place and not everyone in the town was thrilled about that or Capote's lifestyle or Cynthia Tucker's politics.

Why Monroeville, Alabama might not be annoying:

It is amazing that a town so tiny has produced three Pulitzer Prize winners.
The town as a whole is very proud of its literary and artistic heritage and celebrates it with several festivals throughout the year.
The area as a whole avoided the violence that plagued Alabama during the civil rights era.
It is the perfect small Southern town filled with wonderful friendly people.
The local community college, Alabama Southern, has an outstanding reputation.
