    Recorded the singles ‘She’s With Her Other Love’ (1965), ‘It’s Got To Be Mellow’ (1967), ‘Keep It in the Family’ (1974), ‘I Want’a Do Something Freaky To You’ (1975), ‘Come an’ Get Yourself Some’ (1975), ‘Strokin’ (Pt II)’ (1976) and ‘Don’t Push It, Don’t Force It’ (1980)

Why he might be annoying:

    On his first charting single, his name was misspelled as Leon Hayward.
    He was a one-hit wonder on the pop charts in both the US (with ‘I Want’a Do Something Freaky To You’) and UK (with ‘Don’t Push It, Don’t Force It’).
    He was yet another 70s soul singer who favored the open shirt and hanging gold medallions look.
    ’I Want’a Do Something Freaky To You’ was sampled in Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg’s ‘Nuthin’ But a G Thang.’

    His voice was similar to Marvin Gaye’s.
    Although a one-hit wonder on the pop charts, he had 20 singles make the Billboard R&B charts.
    He played in Sam Cooke’s touring band.
