Why he might be annoying:

You can buy a legal license plate from the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles with his hairy face on it.
It took a committee of over a dozen people and years of research to come up with a mascot that the University of Cincinnati came up with in 1914.
Bearcats don't exist.

Why he might not be annoying:

Tony Kornheiser of ESPN, has a Bearcat stuffed animal sitting in the background of his show, 'Pardon the Interruption.'
He replaced 'Colonial Bill,' 'Colonial Woody,' and 'Colonial Chicken' (all unofficial).
He's the inspiration for the Jr. Bearcat Club.
He's been with the school since they've reach Division I status in the Fall of 2001.
He gets to hang out with the cheerleaders!
