The Resume

    (September 21, 1981- )
    Born in Belton, Texas
Acted in 'Spirit: The Seventh Fire,' 'Apocalypto,' and 'Beatdown'
Best known for his role as Jaguar Paw in Mel Gibson's 'Apocalypto'
American Indian name is 'Tee-Dee-Nae,' meaning 'Strong Boy'
Birth Name is Rudy Nathaniel Jamal Gonzalez

Why he might be annoying:

    He plays the flute.
He is a 'one-hit wonder' who didn’t work for four years after the prestigious ‘Apocalypto.’
He has repeatedly claimed in interviews that he is working on as many as eight projects since 2006, but almost none of them have materialized.
He has been accused by American Indian groups of lying about his Comanche ancestry.
He claimed the late Comanche chief, Preston Tahchawwickah, as his ceremonially adoptive father, but did not even attend his funeral in 2004.
He has also claimed to be a descendant of Sioux warriors who fought in both the Battle of Little Bighorn and in Wounded Knee.
He has made these claims on his official website, which has since been taken down (which could be a good indicator...)
He endorsed Eddie's unsuccessful Toxic Waste clothing line.
The bulk of his fan-base is now comprised of stans (stalker fans) who have repeatedly made up projects that he's reportedly starring in.
He was heavily sexualized and almost completely naked as Jaguar Paw, leading him to comment in an interview, 'it got to the point where people didn't recognize me with my clothes on!'
It is believed that he allowed his overnight success from 'Apocalypto' to go to his head, burning his bridges and squandering his credibility in the process.

Why he might not be annoying:

He had to put up with Mel Gibson during the filming of 'Apocalypto,' but still was professional enough to refer to him as 'a great guy.'
He received a Best Actor award from First Americans in the Arts for 'Apocalypto.'
He was targeted by the deeply unpopular 'Bad Eagle' Indian blogger/activist, David Yeagley, over his Indian roots.
He did all of his own stunts for 'Apocalypto,' and agreed to be chased by a live jaguar in the climax scene.
When Mel Gibson harangued him about being reluctant to do a 50-foot waterfall jump stunt, he and the stunt crew goaded him into taking the jump himself (whether or not he accepted remains unclear).
His association with Mel Gibson may have intensified the scrutiny over his ethnicity question (because Hollywood has seen stranger things than fake backstories).
He mastered the Yucatec Mayan language for 'Apocalypto.'
He had no expectation of being selected by Mel Gibson for the role of Jaguar Paw, as he had auditioned to be a Native extra.
He continues to be active on the pow-wow circuit, as a grass dancer and equestrian.
He was active in football, boxing, and running while in High School.
He would be perfect to portray Ira Hayes in a biopic.
