Why he might be annoying:

He went by Mike instead of his actual birth name of Malcolm.
His decision to transfer to UNLV from Oklahoma was largely due to not being able to adapt to campus life at a large school.
He was traded by the Redskins, after he refused to take painkillers to treat an injury.
His decision led to him drawing scorn from his teammates, and his eventual exile from the team.
He spent the last couple seasons of his career as a backup with the Chargers.

Why he might not be annoying:

He left UNLV as the school's all-time leading rusher (prior to the school's football program joining the Division I ranks).
He was able to buck a trend by being a young player to crack a roster assembled by George Allen.
He was the first Redskins rookie in franchise history to earn the Rookie of the Year honor in the post-merger era.
He genuinely enjoyed his time with the Redskins, considering it one of the best times he had in his playing career.
He worked in the oil industry sector for his post-NFL career.
