Quarterback for the Chicago Bears (1939-50)
    14,686 passing yards
    137 touchdowns

Why he might be annoying:

His father murdered his brother-in-law (Sid's maternal uncle) for embezzling from the family trucking business and died in Sing Sing Prison.
He was reluctant to play football professionally, and originally planned to join the family business.
He initially had trouble adapting to the Bears' T-formation and was temporarily shifted to halfback.
Bears coach George Halas admitted, 'Sid wasn't built for quarterback. He was stocky, not fast, and not a great passer in the old tradition.'

Why he might not be annoying:

Halas said, 'Sid made himself a great quarterback. He worked hard, stayed up nights studying, and really learned the T.... He was smart and he was dedicated.'
He was the first successful T-formation quarterback in the NFL.
He trained coaches from the Big Ten, Notre Dame, and West Point in the T-formation and the new passing game.
He led the Bears in the most lopsided victory in NFL history, a 73-0 drubbing of the Washington Redskins in the 1940 Championship Game.
As of 2021, he still holds the NFL record for best touchdown rate in a season, with 13.9% (28 touchdowns in 202 pass attempts) in 1943.
He celebrated Sid Luckman Day by becoming the first NFL quarterback to pass for more than 400 yards and by tying the NFL record by throwing seven touchdown passes (November 14, 1943).
