Why he might be annoying:

He was considered one of Mike Keenan's favorite players.
This was proven as Keenan either signed or traded for him at every stop after Chicago.
He emulated his coaching style after Keenan.
He was fired by the Flames midway through his second full season with the club, after the players could not handle his hard-nosed coaching style.
His approach has led his coaching career to be known for short stints.

Why he might not be annoying:

He is the first player in NHL history to earn Stanley Cup rings as a member of both the New York Islanders and the New York Rangers.
He was considered a solid two-way forward by hockey pundits.
He was one of the few players who actually didn't have an issue with Mike Keenan's heavy handed coaching style.
He earned the Flames permanent head coaching job, after the players responded well to him as an interim coach.
