The Resume

    (January 31, 1984- )
    Born in Potsdam, Germany
    Raised in Minsk, Belarus
Drafted 150th overall by the Montreal Canadiens in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft
Forward for the Montreal Canadiens (2007-08), Toronto Maple Leafs (2008-13), Washington Capitals (2013-14) and the New York Islanders

Why he might be annoying:

He was considered lazy by the Canadiens coaching staff.
He had an ongoing feud with fellow Belarussian teammates Andrei and Sergei Kostitsyn.
He sparked a major uproar in Montreal when he flew to Los Angeles ahead of his teammates to speak with his agent about a trade request.
The Habs eventually got tired of the drama and dealt him to the rival Maple Leafs for little in return.
He was suspended for three games after he shoved an official during an altercation (January 2009).

Why he might not be annoying:

He was born in East Germany to Russian parents while his father worked a construction job.
Despite his German birth, he plays for Belarus in international competition.
Despite being considered a cast-off in Montreal, he became a valuable building block in Toronto.
He is the second player in NHL history, behind former teammate Guilliame Latendresse, to wear #84.
He led all Eastern Conference rookies in scoring during his first full NHL season, which earned him a contract extension with the Leafs.
