Born in Mount Laurel Township, New Jersey
    Suffragette
Organized the Woman Suffrage Parade the day before Woodrow Wilson's presidential inauguration (March 3, 1913)

Why she might be annoying:

While in England, she and another suffragist were arrested for disrupting a speech by the Prime Minister by throwing their shoes and breaking stained glass windows (1909).
Her decision to picket the White House during WWI was derided as unpatriotic in many quarters.
She claimed to not be much of an orator: 'You didn't have to be a good speaker, because the minute you began, you got arrested.'

Why she might not be annoying:

She was denied legal counsel after being arrested for 'obstructing traffic' by picketing the White House (1917).
After she requested that she be treated as political prisoner, she was placed in the 'punishment cell' at Virginia's Occoquan Workhouse.
She said, 'Most reforms, most problems, are complicated. But to me, there is nothing complicated about ordinary equality. Which is a nice thing about our campaign.'
