Why she might be annoying:

She was highly criticized for her decision to perform for the 2017 inauguration of Donald Trump.
Her decision to perform resulted in Spike Lee removing her song 'Black Girl Magic' from his Netflix project.
She acted shocked when there was backlash but then openly complained that she didn't even get to meet the President at the Inaugural ball.

Why she might not be annoying:

    She is of Jamaican ancestry.
She led gospel choirs in high school.
She won a Grammy Award for Best Urban/Alternative Performance in 2009 for her song 'Be OK.'
Her second studio album made the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at number 89.
She justified her decision to perform at the Trump Inaugural ball as a wish to promote unity.
The blowback she received reportedly included death threats, canceled business deals, loss of fans, family members cutting her off, a divorce, and even a miscarriage (reportedly from the stress).
Many pointed out the sexist double standard of her being blackballed from the industry for simply performing while also allowing Kanye West to be obnoxiously pro-Trump but keep his career.
